Objectives

The project "Safe Places" wanted to raise awareness for the importance of Child Safeguarding Policies (CSGP) and to set standards that are followed by the administration and/or institutions for children and young people. In Austria, where CSGP (at the time of the project) had not yet been implemented, the project focused on awareness and networking measures. In addition to that and standards, "Safe Places" aimed at strengthening the commitment of politics and administration for the project issues in order to make first steps towards a structural and organizational implementation of the issues at stake.

Umsetzung

The project was evaluated with a mixed methods-approach to holistically cover the various project activities and project aims. The qualitative methods included focus groups with young project participants, interviews with member of the newly establishes "Child Safeguarding Alliance", cooperation partners, workshop trainers and experts from Germany and Austria. The seminars and trainings for future CSGP experts, a relevant part of the project, were subject to a quantitative approach based on questionnaires.
