Objectives
„Safe basis“ supports children of persons with mental health problems and their families in Vienna. In addition, the project addresses persons and institutions that are in contact with these target groups. The project is carried out by FEM Süd and MEN and financed by the Bundesministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz in cooperation with the Fonds Gesundes Österreich. A demand survey will be carried out among young people (12–18 years) in focus groups. The information collected will be the basis for the provisions developed and implemented together with families. In addition, an interdisciplinary network of contact persons and clear responsibilities will be established. Awareness raising activities complement these project activities.
Implementation
The evaluation focuses the process as well as the project provisions. queraum organises regular reflection workshop to collect experiences, plan the next steps and monitor the achievement of objectives. To assess the quality, effects and benefits of the project provisions, multipliers and referrers (e.g. doctors, medical staff, social workers) as well as the users (parents and children) are interrogated. Additionally, queraum supports the project team with the planning and implementation of self-evaluation methods, with the demand survey and quality assurance measures.
